The Mind Chess Academy ("the Academy", "we", "us") is an online chess academy based in Bengaluru, India. This policy explains how we handle personal information about parents, guardians and students when you use this website, book a free demo class, register for a course or contact us.

2. Information we collect

We only collect the information you give us through our forms or when you contact us:

• Free demo booking: parent or guardian name, email, phone number, country and city; the student's name, age and current chess level; preferred device, day, time and time zone; and any notes you add.
• Course registration: the same contact and student details, plus the selected course, class format, preferred schedule and, if you provide it, a payment reference number.
• Enquiries: anything you share when you email, call or message us.
• Classes: online classes are recorded so students can revise, and coaches keep notes on progress, games and assessments.

We do not ask for card numbers, bank passwords or other payment credentials on this website. Payments are made through the payment methods the Academy provides, and we only record the payment reference needed to match your payment to your registration.

3. Children's information and parental consent

Most of our students are children. Demo bookings and registrations should be completed by a parent or guardian, who provides the student's details and gives consent on the student's behalf. If you believe a child has submitted information without a parent or guardian's involvement, please contact us and we will address it. We use children's information only to provide and improve their chess education, not for targeted advertising.

4. How we use information

• To arrange and follow up on free demo classes.
• To review registrations, place students in a suitable course and batch, and schedule classes.
• To verify payments against the payment reference you provide.
• To run classes and tournaments, track progress and share feedback with parents.
• To respond to your questions and send important information about classes and your account.
• To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

5. How form submissions are handled

When you submit the demo booking or registration form, the details are sent by email to the Academy's team so they can respond. The website itself does not keep a separate database of form submissions. We may also send you an automatic email confirming that your request was received.

6. Sharing information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed to provide our services or where the law requires:

• With the Academy's coaches and staff who need it to teach and support the student.
• With service providers who help us operate, such as our website hosting provider and email service, only for that purpose.
• Where disclosure is required by law, or reasonably necessary to respond to legal process or protect the safety of students.

7. Cookies, analytics and your browser

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The chess puzzles page saves your solved-puzzle progress in your own browser (local storage) so you can continue later; this stays on your device and is not sent to us. Links to our social media pages take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above — for example, while a student is enrolled and for a reasonable period afterwards — and for any longer period required by law. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information. This website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and access to submissions is limited to the Academy's team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to act promptly if a problem arises.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you or your child and how it is used.
• Ask us to correct or update inaccurate information.
• Ask us to delete information, where it is no longer needed or you withdraw consent.
• Withdraw consent you have given, which will not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
• Raise a concern or grievance with us about how your information is handled.
