Online vs Offline Chess Classes: Which Is Better for Kids?
· 1 min read · The Mind Chess Academy
Both formats can work. The right choice depends on your child, your city and your schedule.
Convenience
Online classes remove travel. For families in large cities this can save hours each week, and it makes classes easier to keep up through exams.
Quality of coaching
Online, you are not limited to the coaches near you. You can choose the best coach for your child's level, wherever they are.
Attention and interaction
Offline classes feel more social. Online, small batches and a shared digital board keep children involved, and one-to-one coaching gives full attention.
Revision
Many online academies record classes, so children can revise any lesson. Offline classes rarely offer this.
Tournaments
Rated tournaments are usually played over the board. Online training pairs well with occasional offline events, and a good coach will guide your child on which to enter.
